Fibre Optics

In the past few years cooper wires have been widely replaced by fiber-optics as more suitable way of data transfer. It has become apparent that fiber-optics cover the long distances between local phone systems more effectively as well as providing the backbone for many network systems.

Although its higher cost can be a holdback when it comes to using fiber-optics for desktop applications, this type of cabling provides a high security connection, providing high level of protection against electromagnetic interference.
Fiber-optic cabling is also the solution for inter-building and other connections longer than the maximum of 90 m for Cat 5e and Cat 6 copper cabling.

Eurocabling Ltd carries on site installation and termination of fiber-optic and other cable systems, using fusion splicing or a variety of direct termination techniques. All terminations are tested using Power Light Meters or Optical Time Domain Reflectometers.
